National FFA Convention- Day 1

9 of the Delavan- Darien FFA members, Bailey Abbott, Stephanie Anderson, Jakob Brinkmeyer, Abby Jensen, Garrett Sterken, Breanna Sorg, Ellyn Sorg, Jeff Sorg, and Ron Warrenburg, accompanied chapters from all over Walworth County and surrounding areas, such as Badger, Elkhorn, East Troy, Burlington, and Waterford, on an adventure to Indianapolis, Indiana. After about 7 hours on a coach bus we arrived at the heart of Indiana- FFA Way Road. We were greeted with thousands of students sporting the FFA national blue and corn gold colors, looking sharp and ready to learn at the Indianapolis Convention Center near the Lucas Oil Stadium. The Delavan- Darien chapter, with one of our advisors, Mrs. Beaty, and her husband, Mr. Beaty, took a trip to find somewhere to eat before we submerged ourselves completely into FFA and all the amazing things that we will get to experience. The final decision was an Italian restaurant, Buca de Beppo, where we all tried new pasta dishes and literally dove into an amazing cheesecake. Tonight we began the National Convention by attending a Lady Antebellum and Easton Corbin concert in the Lucas Oil Stadium, which we can honestly say was utterly and absolutely amazing!  Next, on our agenda we hope to attend many sessions and workshops that will help us become better leaders and gain more knowledge about jobs or careers or just hobbies that we are interested in. Tomorrow, we will post again about our experiences and lessons learned so we hope you all enjoy our journey as much as we will.
